Sometimes video games can help you lose weight.

Cardio-vascular exercise routine tip #2
I bought a Nintendo Wii system less than a year ago. I'm old school, owning two video gaming consoles a Sega Saturn and a Sony PlayStation. I wanted to find something that was fun to do inside the house and participate in sports that I've only dream of doing.
According to the Diet Channel's Cynthia York-Camden MS, RD, LDN states that the Wii weight loss plan seeks to promote weight loss by burning extra calories using the Nintendo's Wii Sport System. The Wii includes a hand held wireless wand that requires the player to move around using arm motions (which are performed either standing or sitting). Wii games include tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and more. Gamers who have have tried this weight lose plan report losing 10 to 39 pounds in less than two months by including at least 30 minutes per a day of Wii game play along with regular aerobic exercise and healthier eating. Wii Weight Lose Plan participants usually play Wii Sports games 30-45 minutes daily. Successful losers report adding extra regular aerobic exercise to their plan such as walking, jogging, using the treadmill or other aerobic activity. In addition to daily Wii play, about 30 minutes of aerobic exercise is needed three to five times per week to promote the greatest amount of weight loss.
So get your game on and lose some weight. It's as simple as that!
Please follow your doctor's recommendations before starting any exercise routine.

My blonde four legged friend is Man's best friend

Cardio-vascular exercise routine tip #1

Meet my favorite blonde Mavrick, who is over a year old. He is a very energetic golden Labrador Retriever puppy.
He isn't really my dog and I don't spend a lot of time with him. When I do, he can walk your butt off. He loves the outdoors no matter what the weather is like outside, that's where he wants to be. The other nice thing about being outside with a dog besides the fresh air is that you can always find someone who will take a picture of you with your favorite walking partner.
Denise Austin, the fitness guru states that you don't have to commit to an intense exercise program to see results. By taking your dog for a walk just 30 minutes a day, you'll burn more than 43,500 calories-and lose more than 12 pounds a year.
With this knowledge you can see why your pooch can be man's or woman's best friend.
Mavrick likes the beach, so sometimes he gets to go to Nantasket Beach down to the water's edge after beach season and to the boardwalk area during beach season.
Most dogs like water so watch out, during the winter months they might just jump in. That will kill your walking workout quickly.
If you live in Massachusetts and spend time on the south shore there are plenty of places to take Fido or Max to for a good long walk. You can also go cross country skiing and snow shoeing there as well.
One of the places where Me and Mavrick have been to is the Whitney and Thayer Woods on route 3A in Cohasset and Hingham, MA. dogs are welcome there!

Oh yeah, I've lost 10 pounds as of March 1st 2009!

Find Your inner strength

To find your inner strength is easy and it won't cost you anything but time.
Isometrics involves muscle contraction against resistance in which the length of the muscle remains the same.
Denise Austin, you know that Idaho potato lady the fitness guru. She has put out these free, yes I said free weight management guides at Rite Aid.
See, stop spending all that money on buying these fitness expert's books.
Anyway, here are some of the things she said about exercising and isometrics.
"People think they have to go to the gym for two hours, but all you need is 30 minutes if you're consistent". Stand up and move, isometric exercises will help you burn more calories during the course of the day. You can do these exercises in the kitchen, at work and even on the subway. Isometric exercises can add immeasurable strength and muscle growth. With muscle growth you will burn more fat. You need to add them to your exercise program, don't leave them out.
Isometrics and other stretching exercises are important in reducing stress by letting you take time out for yourself. It also improves your posture, lengthens your muscles and improves your strength, energy and circulation.
I do a lot of isometrics and stretching exercises before and after my workouts. For me, it helps by warm up my muscles and avoid injury to them.
I also like to do them before I lift any weights whether it's a resistance machine or free weights.
It doesn't matter, we are older so please stretch before and after.
Please follow the recommendations of your doctor before your start any exercise routine.
